Kimm Topping is a writer and cultural historian documenting queer life, youth organizing, and the spaces where grassroots history is made. They are the author of Generation Queer (Lee & Low Books, 2025), a work of narrative nonfiction and oral history shaped through interviews with LGBTQ+ youth activists across the United States.
They are the founder of Lavender Education, a creative publishing and education platform, and the editor of Floriography, a literary journal featuring multidisciplinary voices. Through workshops, publications, and public programs, their work bridges archival research and creative practice.
Kimm has previously led statewide LGBTQ+ inclusion initiatives in public education, lectured at Harvard University, and spoken nationally on psychology, technology, and education policy. Their work has been recognized by the Lavender Rhino Award from Queer History Boston, the 2025 Curve Power List, and the 2023 Inaugural In-Service Award from the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition.
They live in Brooklyn, NY.
